Folklore has been around since the beginning of time. In fact there is a time line between folklore and history for many cultures. They probably invented folk heroes as they sat around and talked as days gone by. As the stories were repeated they became more and more unrealistic until the main character became bigger than life.
So many cultures have created their own folk heroes becuse many years ago people never had the things we have these days such as televisions, radios, movies etc. To entertain theirselves , people would come up with stories and they would talk about a hero to make it more interesting. As the years go by they would past it on to others and therefore creating heros.
