  2. People risk their lives for many reasons: glory, fame, love, adrenalin rushes, and the instinct to survive. The first four reasons are self-explanatory, the fifth reason, however, seems to contradict itself. Why would you risk ending your life in order to elongate it? An example of someone doing this could be a political refugee from Cuba risking their life to cross the the straits of Florida on a raft made out of several broken doors; they could stay in Cuba living in poverty, or risk their lives and start a new life in America, possibly starting a business and live a comfortable life. Another example could be or someone trapped on the roof of a burning building, they could stay on the roof and pray for a rescue helicopter that may not come, or they could attempt to jump onto the roof of an adjacent building. Both choices involve the possibility of death, but one has a survival outcome based on luck, while the other has an outcome based on ability.

  3. People seem to risk their lives for causes that they believe in. Cause that some may find stupid and childish, others find mature and responsible.

A major "cause", so to speak, today would be the War in Iraq. Many young people, most fresh out of college, feel that that have something to prove to the world and believe in the country of America. Therefore they gladly jump at the chance to defend her when attacked.

  4. Most people risk their lives to save someone they love, or to fight for what they perceive to be right. When you strongly desire someone are something you feel as if you will do anything to either protect it or have. It's a passionate drive that you sometimes can not stop.

  5. People risk there lives for to protect things sacred to them, personal items, someone they care about, values, beliefs, ect.. There are numerous things just depends on what means the most to that person. It makes someone feel good about themselves and shows they aren't selfish by doing so.

  6. Kinyata Dessasau:One may risk their life for someone they love such as a close friend or a family member. When you love someone very dearly you wouldn't want anyone to harm them, and if someone were to harm them one would have to do something about it even if they know their life may be at risk.

  7. People risk their lives for many reasons. A few may be to rescue a person in despereate need of help, some for publicity, others risk their lives because of their job professions such as firefighters, police officers, the Army etc. There are many heros of our time of different ages. People are put through many challenges when it comes to help saving a life. You do have to save a burning building just to be recognized as a hero. you could be a ten year old saving a cat from a tree. Being a hero can be seen in many different ways.
